Corvias has reached a milestone in its initial development scope to build 400 new homes at Hurlburt Field as part of a larger effort through the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) to eliminate inadequate military family housing.
Last week, construction teams with Corvias demolished the final home at Hurlburt Field. Since 2013, Corvias has replaced 270 outdated homes with 350 new homes and is scheduled to construct an additional 50 new homes by the summer of 2022. The new homes will include sustainable features like LED lighting, low flow water fixtures, and energy-efficient appliances.
Construction will also soon begin on a new 10,000 square-foot community center featuring a swimming pool and other family friendly amenities. “The milestone of demolishing the last home at Hurlburt Field marks the final step to the housing transformation that will be realized as part of the [MHPI],” said Pete Sims, a Managing Director for Corvias.
