Balfour Beatty Communities announced the start of a new construction project at Fort Carson in Colorado in August. The ceremony marked the beginning of a multi-phased project that will bring more than 200 new homes to the community.
In the initial phase, which is already underway, the company will deliver 56 new 3- and 4-bedroom townhome units. The high-quality, modern homes will be designed to fit the needs of the military families stationed at Fort Carson. Features in the new homes will include garages, open-concept floor plans, plank flooring, energy-efficient appliances, and EV charging infrastructure. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in September 2025.
“This project represents a critical investment in the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families,” said Col. Sean M. Brown, former Garrison Commander, Fort Carson. “We are excited to see these new homes come to fruition and are grateful for the partnership in making this vision a reality.”
“With demolition, site, and utility work behind us, we are thrilled to see these new homes starting to take shape at Fort Carson. This project is a testament to our strong partnership with the Army and our mutual commitment to providing exceptional living experiences to military families,” said Theresa Steele, Vice President of Project Development, Balfour Beatty Communities.
The project comes in partnership with the U.S. Army through the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI). The MHPI program enables service branches to work with private housing developers to meet the needs of servicemembers by revitalizing military family housing communities.
