Liberty Military Housing and Corvias recently announced the completion of projects that will bring new playgrounds to two military installations. At Fort Johnson, Corvias announced the completion of four new playgrounds in October, bringing the total number of interactive playgrounds to 14 at the base. At the Lyman Park community at Quantico, Liberty held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new playground in November.
The Liberty playground features agility areas, upgraded landscaping, and fencing designed to cater to all age groups. The milestone marks the first phase of a project that will bring new amenities to the community’s 650 residents. In the next phase, Liberty plans to enhance resident amenities with a new covered pavilion, expansive toddler-area, and play space featuring a Gaga ball court.
Liberty’s investments at Quantico total $17.6 million, part of broad funding available to improve military communities through the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI). Recent investments in Liberty’s communities in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas reflect the company’s commitment to provide high-quality on-base housing.
The four new playgrounds at Fort Johnson, built by Corvias, pair with amenities that help enhance the on-base resident experience. Outdoor recreation spaces at Fort Johnson include pickleball courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, dog parks and resort-style swimming pools. The amenities at Fort Johnson align with Corvias’ Wellness at Home program, which supports the well-being of the military community through healthy indoor living conditions.
Military housing providers are dedicated to holistically supporting military families and ensuring that children and families who choose to live on-base have the best possible resident experience. The MHPI program covers the cost of resident amenities like playgrounds, allowing companies to leverage private funding to support the military family experience.
