In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in 2018, privatized military housing provider Balfour Beatty Communities is supporting the transformation of Tyndall Air Force Base into the “Installation of the Future.”

The 325th Fighter Wing reports that changes are coming to Tyndall, including upgrades to military family housing. With renovations planned for Felix Lake Housing, current construction at Redfish Point Housing is already underway. Both the Island View and Sabre Palms communities have been fully restored and are fully operational housing Air Force families assigned to Tyndall.

Donna Barber, 325th CES installation management flight chief, explains the effort to adapt and rebuild, “Balfour Beatty Communities resumed work in Redfish Point earlier this month, with plans to turnover 15 homes per month for occupancy beginning in August 2022.”
