Lincoln Military Housing recently earned the 2020 Exemplary Individual Project/Program Award for their partnership with Fort Sam Houston Elementary School to support the Cougar Cub Recycling Program.
The award celebrates successful partnerships formed between military installations and school districts that serve the military- and veteran-connected children.
The Cougar Cub Recycling Program tracked and reported the amount of recyclables placed curbside from September 2019 to January 2020. In six months, Lincoln Military Housing residents contributed 17,252 pounds of recyclables to the program’s total of 1.4 million pounds of recyclables.
Shequita Sims, Lincoln Military Housing, District Manager said, “Not only did it allow us to support our community partners, but it also provided resident education and awareness about the ecosystem, and our environment.”
Lincoln Military Housing is now Liberty Military Housing, an employee-owned company.
