Military Housing Association member companies and the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) are coordinating to proactively address the uncertainty military families are experiencing as a result of the Department of Defense’s decision to halt Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves due to COVID-19.

As military leaders take important steps to protect public health, some military families have been ordered to stay in place after they have given notice on a lease or are in the process of selling their home.

MHA member companies, including Hunt Military Communities, Balfour Beatty Communities, Corvias Property Management, and Lincoln Military Housing quickly worked with MFAN to recognize the urgent situation facing military families and take unprecedented steps to provide short-term leasing options in vacant housing units for families at risk.

In an announcement of these emergency accommodations, MFAN’s Executive Director Shannon Razsadin said, “The swift action of privatized military housing contractors will give military families a safety net and lessen their overall stress during these highly stressful times. …This is an example of how we can all rise to the occasion, get rid of red tape, and support each other during difficult times.”

The announcement continued, “Because of the efforts of MFAN and the leadership shown by these companies, military families will now have peace of mind knowing that they will have a place to live.”

Lincoln Military Housing is now Liberty Military Housing, an employee-owned company.
