Hunt Military Communities Foundation, operated by MHA member Hunt Military Communities, recently launched the fifth annual iteration of its Hunt Little Heroes program for military children. The program highlights dependent children of military service members who are making a difference in their communities.

Children between the ages of 4 and 16 are eligible for the program, which is open to the children of all military families. Submissions are open from March 15, 2024, through April 30, 2024. Interested families and dependents can find additional guidelines and details for submission at https://huntlittleheroes.org.

“Throughout the country, thousands of military children showcase outstanding leadership traits, emulating their parents who serve,” said Brian Stann, Chief Executive Officer of Hunt Military Communities. “The Hunt Little Heroes program provides us with a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of military children who give back to their communities in meaningful and creative ways.”

The program provides an opportunity for military dependents to share their “Hero Stories.” Participants are asked to share submissions through either a 300-word-essay or a maximum of two-minute video, in which they discuss what it takes to be a hero and how they can make a positive impact in their community.

Hunt Little Heroes will be recognized in their community with a “coining” ceremony, and prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250 will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners, respectively. Winners will also have the opportunity to make a charitable donation to an organization of their choice with an amount matching the monetary award. All applicants to the program will receive a hero cape, mask, and letter of appreciation for sharing their story.

Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) partners work closely with military families and the Armed Services to provide quality housing and tight-knit military communities. MHPI providers are committed to giving back to the communities they serve and highlighting the important contributions and sacrifices of military families.
