The Michaels Organization recently announced the opening of their 2024-2025 academic year scholarships on February 5, 2024. The scholarship program is open to all residents of the military housing provider that are pursuing higher education at universities, colleges, and trade schools.
This opportunity is supported by The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation, which has been dedicated to expanding the higher education opportunities of their residents since 1991. The foundation has provided more than $14 million in scholarships in the 33 years since it was founded.
“Each year our Michaels scholars represent a remarkable group of individuals, from first-generation college students to nontraditional students re-entering academia, and everything in between,” said Michaels’ Chief Executive Officer John J. O’Donnell. “We could not be more proud to invest in their academic success and to continue fulfilling our promise of Lifting Lives.”
HOW TO APPLY
Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year are now available online and in Michaels’ military housing community management offices. The foundation suggests that college students request transcripts by March 6, 2024, to ensure that the application will be received. The final deadline for applications is April 15, 2024, and decisions will be sent to residents on June 12, 2024. More information on key dates and application requirements can be found here.
Last year, the foundation awarded $1.8 million to 242 students around the country. The company is committed to helping a diverse and expansive group of residents with reaching their higher education goals. Throughout the foundation’s existence, it has awarded grants to more than 4,000 scholars.
